It looks like the release date for Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter 6 has been leaked online before any official announcement. The perpetrator is not a randomly masked Twitter account or Reddit profile. Instead, the leak comes directly from Sony’s PlayStation Store, which also shows off various editions and pre-order bonuses.
Capcom is expected to officially announce the release date at some point today during The Game Awards 2022, but the surprise was broken up a bit by Sony’s PlayStation Store mishap.
Street Fighter 6 will be released for PS5 and PS4 on June 2, 2023, according to the listing on the PlayStation Store.
The listing page shows three editions available for pre-order, each coming with a variety of in-game goodies. With every version of Street Fighter 6 on PS5 and PS4 you’ll get:
Street Fighter 6 Standard Edition
- Street Fighter 6 – PS5 and PS4 versions
- Outfit for 6 characters 1 Color 10
- Custom Titles and Stickers
Street Fighter 6 Deluxe Edition
- Street Fighter 6 – PS5 and PS4 versions
- Outfit for 6 characters 1 Color 10
- Custom Titles and Stickers
- Year 1 Character Card
Street Fighter 6 Ultimate Edition
- Street Fighter 6 – PS5 and PS4 versions
- Outfit for 6 characters 1 Color 10
- Custom Titles and Stickers
- Year 1 Character Card
Oddly enough, the Deluxe and Ultimate editions are listed with the same pre-order bonuses. As the list is obviously going live a little earlier than planned, it’s likely that the product page is not 100% complete and will be updated when the time comes to reflect the extras players will spend on Ultimate. .Oppression.
If you’re hoping to pre-order early, don’t rush. The store page has since been removed, and even if you find it, an error message appears when you try to add the game to your digital cart. The pre-orders page will most likely go live once the release date is officially announced.
While June may seem like a long way off, enthusiastic players who want to get a hands-on experience with Street Fighter 6 can sign up for the closed beta, which will take place later this month. No purchases or pre-orders are required, although you have to apply through the official website and then hope to be one of the lucky few selected to play the game early.
Street Fighter 6 has been announced for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Assuming the leak is correct, all versions will be released on June 2, 2023.
